Tianjin University of Commerce (TUC) was established in 1980. After two decades of construction and development, it has become an advanced university with undergraduate and postgraduate education specializing in economics, management, engineering, law, liberal arts and science. The University is located by the Ziya River in Tianjin and covers an area of 920,000 m2. The campus is clean and tidy with first-rate facilities providing excellent conditions for working, studying and researching.

   The university has 19 Master degree programs and 42 undergraduate programs, the enrollment of professional training graduates, undergraduates and postgraduates being over 13,000. The university has adopted a multi-level, multi-faceted approach to education. The library has a collection of 1,790,000 books and 2,000 periodicals. There is also an electronic reading room, in which 30 databases and 1,000,000 e-books are available for teachers and students to read and refer to. The teaching, research and administration staffs of the university are first-rate. There are 400 professors, vice professors, research fellows, engineers, and 500 lecturers and assistant lecturers in the university.

   Tianjin University of Commerce which actively participates in international cooperation and exchange began to accept foreign students with the allowance of ministry of education in 1992. TUC has improved its management and service system continuously and built a team of highly experienced teachers. TUC has formed a partnership with 30 colleges of foreign countries, established three sino-foreign cooperative education programs (two bachelor degrees and one master degree).
